✨ Welcome to Practically Beta✨
Hey there! I'm Karida Palmer, and welcome to Practically Beta (PB) – my personal sandbox turned thought lab where I explore how people, technology, and transformation actually work together in the real world. If you've ever felt like the world of AI and emerging tech is moving too fast, feels too abstract, or just leaves you wondering "okay but how does this actually help people?" – you're in the right place. PB is where I break down the big, expansive, sometimes overwhelming world of innovation into something more grounded. Something that makes you think "oh, I see how this could work for me" or "okay, this is a future I can actually get behind." This space is equal parts frameworks, experiments, and honest conversations about what it takes to build human-centered solutions in a world that's constantly evolving. It's practical. It's a little playful. And yes, it's always in beta – because the best solutions come from staying curious and being willing to iterate.
About Me
I'm a human capital strategist, systems thinker, and someone who genuinely loves figuring out how to make work... work better for people. With over two decades in the federal sector and credentials like my MBA, SPHR, and Prosci® certification, I've spent my career driving transformation across the full employee lifecycle – talent acquisition, performance management, learning strategy, change management, you name it.
But here's the thing: I didn't start in HR. My foundation is in federal finance and comptroller roles, and I've worked cross-functionally with IT and compliance teams for years. That background taught me to think in systems, connect dots across silos, and translate complex strategy into action that actually makes sense for the people doing the work.
I've led enterprise-level change initiatives, modernized recruitment pipelines, and built AI-enabled experiments to explore what's possible when we adopt technology with intention. My approach blends analytical rigor with modern tools to create solutions that are scalable, inclusive, and centered on real human needs – not just what's trendy.
Practically Beta started as my playground to explore these intersections, and it's grown into an ecosystem of frameworks, simulations, and thought pieces designed to help teams stop spiraling and start strategizing. I publish my work here because I believe the future of work should be built collaboratively, transparently, and with integrity at the center.
Right now, I'm exploring new opportunities and partnerships – especially with organizations who want to adopt AI and emerging tech in ways that center people, particularly in talent development and change management. If you're building something that prioritizes long-term impact over quick wins, let's talk.
